đź—˝ Teen Travel Diaries: NYC Edition

If you’re a teen with a love for travel and a phone full of pictures, New York City should be on your list. It’s chaotic, iconic, and full of energy. I went during Christmas, and let me tell you, it was exactly like living out a scene from Gossip Girl—minus the drama.

🕰️ A Little History

NYC started as New Amsterdam before the British took over and turned it into the bustling metropolis we know today. Over the years, it’s been a center for culture, protest, and change. The city has a story around every corner, and if you’re into history, it’s easy to get lost in it.

🎭 Broadway, Baby!

If you’re in the city, seeing a show is a must. I went to see Chicago and the Rockettes, it was incredible. There’s just something about the energy in those theaters that you can’t get anywhere else. If you’re a student, take advantage of rush tickets or discounts to save some cash.

🛍️ Shopping + Cute Pic Spots

Shopping in NYC is next level. From the designer stores on 5th Avenue to the unique boutiques in SoHo, there’s something for everyone. I might’ve gone a little overboard, but it’s New York—you’re allowed to splurge a little.

As for photo spots:

  • The Met Steps – Definitely a must for the iconic photo.
  • Bryant Park at Christmas – Picture-perfect with all the lights.
  • The Vessel – A great spot for cool, modern shots.
  • Central Park in the snow – It’s as magical as it sounds.

🥯 Foodie Finds

No trip to NYC is complete without trying the bagels—Liberty Bagels was a standout. I had the rainbow bagel with birthday cake cream cheese, and it was everything. If bagels aren’t your thing, don’t miss out on:

  • Joe’s Pizza – A classic New York slice.
  • Levain Bakery – Famous for their cookies, and for good reason.
  • Sant Ambroeus – Best coffee, hot cocoa and pastries ever!!
  • And of course, street pretzels for that authentic NYC experience.

New York is overwhelming but totally worth it. There’s no place quite like it, and whether you’re into history, shopping, food, or just the city’s vibe, you’ll find something to love.

Until next time,
XOXO- Gossip Girl
